Grade Comparison
We specialize in the supply of a full range of 210 stainless steel sheets/plates and support customized solutions.

With a moderate carbon content (typically ≤0.15%), stainless steel materials provide satisfactory weldability for common welding processes, meeting general joining needs without complex pre- or post-weld heat treatments (note: it does not offer the same intergranular corrosion resistance as low-carbon grades like 316L).

Available in thicknesses from 0.3mm to 30mm, and in common sizes such as 4x8 ft (1219x2438 mm), 5x10 ft (1500x3000 mm), or custom cut-to-size sheets.

By Manufacturing Process: Cold rolled 210 stainless steel plate, Hot rolled 210 stainless steel plate

By Surface Treatment Type: 210 Mirror SS Sheet (8k), 210 Brushed Stainless Steel Sheet (Long / Short Grain), 210 Embossed Stainless Steel Sheet, 210 Sandblasted Stainless Steel Sheet

210 Stainless Steel Sheets/Plates

201 is an austenitic stainless steel, with core alloys of chromium (16%-18%), manganese (5%-8%), and low nickel (3.5%-5.5%)—a key difference from high-nickel 316/316L.  It has a standard carbon content (≤0.15%) and no widely used low-carbon variant (unlike 316L).

This composition gives it moderate corrosion resistance (suitable for mild/non-chloride environments) and ordinary intergranular corrosion resistance after welding.  These traits clarify its selection: it’s a cost-sensitive choice for scenarios that don’t require extreme corrosion resistance (e.g., against saltwater, strong chemicals).
Stainless steel sheets (≤6mm) and plates (>6mm) are available in various grades such as 201, 304, 316, and 430. They come in a wide range of thicknesses and finishes to meet both decorative and structural applications.

Heat Treatment of 210 Stainless Steel Sheets/Plates

1.Annealing (Solution Treatment)

Temperature: 1010–1090°C

Cooling: Rapid cooling in air or water

Purpose: Restores ductility and corrosion resistance after cold work

2.Stress Relieving

After bending or deep drawing

Reduces residual stresses and distortion

3.Hardening

Cannot be hardened by heat treatment

Strength improvement only through cold working

4.Performance Balance

Maintains internal structure stability

Ensures consistent performance in forming, welding, and polishing

Features of 201 Stainless Steel Plates

Corrosion Resistance : It has moderate corrosion resistance (weaker than 316/316L), suitable for mild environments like dry atmospheric conditions, fresh water, or non-corrosive indoor spaces. Due to low nickel (3.5%-5.5%) and no molybdenum, it cannot resist chloride-induced corrosion (e.g., saltwater) or strong acids (e.g., dilute sulfuric acid).

Mechanical Properties : Boasts relatively high strength with acceptable ductility: Tensile strength 520-750 MPa, yield strength 210-345 MPa (meets general load-bearing needs); elongation ≥35% (enables basic forming, bending, and stamping for common parts).

Weldability : Compatible with TIG/MIG/arc welding, but no low-carbon variant (unlike 316L). Its carbon content (≤0.15%) may increase intergranular corrosion risk after welding, requiring proper control of welding heat input (e.g., avoiding overheating).

Temperature Tolerance : Maintains stability at up to 400-500°C (continuous service) and ~600°C (intermittent service) – lower than 316/316L. Low-temperature toughness is ordinary, not suitable for cryogenic applications (e.g., below -20°C).

Applications of 201 Stainless Steel Sheets /Plates

Kitchen Equipment: Countertops, sinks, range hoods, and utensils (recommended thickness: 0.8–1.5 mm for decorative panels).

Interior Decoration: Wall panels, elevator doors, ceiling panels (thin sheets 0.6–1.2 mm for aesthetic use).

Furniture and Household Appliances: Refrigerator panels, table frames, cabinet doors (recommended thickness: 0.8–2 mm).

Transportation & Auto Parts: Trim strips, inner body panels, luggage racks (1.5–3 mm).

Building & Architecture: Interior cladding, handrails, and light structural parts (2–4 mm).

Commercial Displays: Signboards, decorative columns, shop fittings (custom mirror or hairline finish).

201 Stainless Steel Sheets/Plates ——FAQs

1. What is the main difference between 201 and 304 stainless steel sheet?
201 has lower nickel and higher manganese content, making it stronger and cheaper than 304. However, it offers lower corrosion resistance, so it’s more suitable for indoor or dry environments.

2. Can 201 stainless steel sheet resist rust?
It provides good resistance to mild corrosion and oxidation but is not suitable for marine or acidic environments. For saltwater resistance, 304 or 316 grades are recommended.

3. What are the available sizes and thicknesses of 201 stainless steel sheet?
Common thicknesses: 0.4 mm, 0.8 mm, 1.0 mm, 2.0 mm, 3.0 mm, and 5.0 mm.
Standard sheet sizes: 4x8 ft (1219x2438 mm) and 5x10 ft (1500x3000 mm).
Custom cutting, polishing, and surface finishing are available.

4. Can 201 stainless steel be welded easily?
Yes. It can be welded using TIG or MIG methods, though post-weld annealing is recommended for optimal corrosion resistance.

5. What surface finishes are available for 201 stainless steel sheet?
Options include 2B, BA (bright), No.4 (brushed), HL (hairline), and mirror finish, suitable for different decorative and industrial needs.

6. Is 201 stainless steel suitable for food processing?
It can be used for general food-contact surfaces like countertops or shelves, but 316L is preferred for strict hygiene and corrosion-resistant applications.

7. Why choose 201 stainless steel sheet?
It offers an ideal balance of strength, cost efficiency, and aesthetics, making it a popular choice for furniture, interior decoration, and commercial applications.
